The disease is initially treated with steroid (prednisone) and following complete remission of the clinical signs the dose can be reduced. How fast the dose is reduced often is related to how well the patient is tolerating what can be the unpleasant and even dangerous side-effects of steroids. Hello this is for Godtropin a Src I’ve used for almost 2 years now with NO promlems until recent , I ordered 2 kits back in dec , DEC 26th donation was sent to be exact and normally I would have the product within 6 business days, and I would receive both kits I ordered , since I always ordered 2 kits as I did this time only problem is , this time it took almost a month to receive it , now grant it there was the Christmas holiday so getting ur packagea few days later u wld expect from tht , but when it came in only received 1 kit . I’ve tried contacting the src about this the minute I noticed one kit missing and I still did NOT hear back from him which I never had a problem with him answering , emails, PM’s or anytime I tried contacting him.... SO I don’t know if any one else experienced this or NOT , I don’t know if the Src is starting to get sloppy all I know is I shld have had a response about him going to handle me only receiving one kit when I’m paid for 2 kits.....

Follow-up appointments will be very important and absolutely necessary with a diagnosis of steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis. Your veterinarian will determine the schedule of the return visits which will depend on how well your furry family member responds to the treatment. The follow-up will mean repeat blood tests and analysis of the CSF until the veterinarian can see that the markers have returned to normal. This could mean appointments every 4 to 6 weeks for several months. It is imperative that you keep the appointments and do not discontinue the medication even though you may think your dog is feeling better. It should be noted that many pets will need a prescription for gastroprotectants; if you see any side effects from the long-term therapy such as blood in the stool or vomiting, or if you are concerned in any way with your pet’s health, contact the clinic without delay. With SRMA there is a potential for relapse, meaning that continued contact with your veterinarian will be recommended.
